The Reluctant Traveler

Frankly I am reluctant to travel this time.

Unlike Taiwan, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong....I bet most of the people reading this right now cannot accurately map out in the mind where Pakistan is located, or name all its neighboring countries, or its capital city correctly.

I am just apprehensive. Conveniently ignore this and this may just be another place for holiday, you hope. Well, not when there was a fresh bomb in North West of Pakistan last month.

And with awesome statistic in the past few years.

---------------------------------------

I asked (with testing water mode) my boss why there is no direct flight from Singapore to Pakistan, when I knew exactly why - too many reluctant traveler like me in Singapore for the same concern. And the concern is a factual reason.

He answered (with reaction mode) like a matter of fact: "Oh, too many bombing in Pakistan so SIA cancelled the direct flight. Never mind, you can take a connecting flight via Bangkok or Dubai."

...|||!!!

---------------------------------------

The only good thing I tell myself is I am going to Karachi (yes this is NOT the answer - Islamabad is the capital city) which is at the south.

And I tell myself Pakistan is producing things like this.

May day

The May is stuffed with a lot of mileage, airport, hotel and hospital.

I shall keep my head up and heart composed.

The journey is a long one, but I can only put my foot a step forward a day.

I am now in Taiwan already.

And it is just the beginning.

Hong Kong like the second home

Just suddenly realize I came to Hong Kong so often that I thought at one point it was more frequent than I back to Ipoh.

For the first time I was not staying at central or anywhere near central. I actually very much dislike the crowd in Hong Kong, very gastric. But maybe I will change my mind when I think of Hennessy Lane.

This was very much a short, exciting, dramatic and twisted trip I ever had in Hong Kong.

I found myself running out of HK note. I was missing my lunch. I was in the rain. I was waiting for hours before being told to wait another for 2 hours. I was right in front of it when the mess happened. I was having a taxi driver telling me I am more Canto than him (?!?!). I was ....about to scold someone remotely from HK.

Overwhelming stuffs make me feel like I am a superman...who cannot fly but obliged to.

Salute Jay Chow, I am.
